I'd never dreamed of making comics when I was younger. In fact, I denied I ever wanted to make comics until Black Peak came along and ate me up from the inside out. It was a way to retake control of my life that had gone off the rails. I worked at it, one page a week, while keeping a full time job. Slowly, but inexorably. And one day, it was done. I've been trapped in the land of comics ever since. Pryce still haunts me, and he'll forever be a defining character of mine: the One True Lad. I've moved on from what Black Peak represents for me, but I'm also using its scraps in a more authentic form in new stories. I'm looking forward to the stories I can extract next.
